This is a picture of the lighthouse in Chincatique. It uses a spiral pattern. This pattern can be used to show that many people have passed this place or that many ships have passed by it.
Chris, please explain further how this is a "spiral" that references the same spirals from our lectures - as those were also a converging line. I am also not sure about what you are saying when saying this pattern "can be used" to show the passing of people - who can use this and why?
The pattern is an upward spiral which alternates colors between red and white. The lighthouse can be used by ships that are on the sea so that they do not run aground. Also it is possible that native americans lived in this area and crossed over this area many times and this could have influenced the creation of this lighthouse.
