            This is a picture that I took of a portion of a river. It may not be clear to see, but the indent that you can see in the middle of the picture, is water that is resisting the natural flow of the river. This picture, in my opinion, is a perfect representation of art in general. Many aspiring art students at VCU try to stand out from the crowd of other students. They due this by coloring their hair with streaks or wearing clothes that are "interesting." This picture can also represent the fact that many pieces of art are different from our general idea of what we expect art to look like. For example, an average Joe might not think of art as three yellow dots of varying size.
